Jannah Hotchkiss

Jannah was born and raised in St. Louis. She was homeschooled from kindergarten through her senior year in high school. She attended Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing with a minor in Music.

Jannah was very involved in her university's music department. She played viola in the orchestra, string ensemble, and elite Presidential Quartet. It was in college that she also discovered her passion for other cultures and languages, thanks in part to the great diversity of Lindenwood's international student body. She took several elective Spanish classes and had the opportunity to study abroad in Costa Rica.

Jannah moved to Kansas City in the fall of 2014. Her intercultural experiences and her intrigue with language and learning led her to UMKC, where she is currently pursuing a master's in TESOL. She would love to eventually teach English in Latin America or in an English immersion program at a university in the United States. In her free time, Jannah enjoys reading, hiking, and exploring KC.

Jannah is available to tutor at the Leawood office on Wednesdays-Fridays from 4-9PM & Saturdays from 10AM-3PM.
