Raphi Schuster was born in Bellevue, Washington, where he lived until he came to Kansas for college in 2013. During high school, he ran cross country in the Fall and threw javelin in the spring. He was also involved in Boy Scouts and his temple youth group during those years.
Raphi is currently studying mathematics at the University of Kansas. He enjoys going to KU basketball games as well as playing recreational ball with his friends. On campus, he is involved in Math club and is a participant in the Putnam Math Competition.
Raphi’s biggest passion is watching professional baseball. He is an avid Mariners and Royals fan and loves to go to games whenever he can. Near the end of the season, he can be found watching as many as four games at one time. His favorite memory is attending the 2015 World Series game 1 when Alcides Escobar hit an inside-the-park homerun off the first pitch.
